Is it possible to lose fat… fast?

The first thing you need to know if you want to lose fat is that you need to BURN fat. Generally, burning fat is all about expending more calories than you consume. If you eat more calories than your body uses throughout the day, these additional calories will be stored as body fat. In other words, to prevent piling up body fat you need to either reduce your calorie intake or increase your daily activity levels – doing both will have the best effect on reducing body fat.
To achieve and speed up your fat loss, here are few things that works.

Speed up your metabolism — Resistance Exercise speeds up metabolism. The more active your lifestyle and muscles put to work; the more likely you are to boost your metabolism and lose weight.

Metabolism does control weight, this is true. What most people don’t know is that they do in fact have the ability to control and adjust their metabolism, therefore be in control of their weight. Except in rare cases, it’s not your genetics!
It may not be easy for all of us to instantly shift into a highly active lifestyle but it is possible to get there as quickly as you can as an individual.

Eat healthy balanced diet— Be sure to eat a variety of foods, including plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole grain products. For your protein source, include low-fat dairy products, eggs, lean meats, poultry, fish, and legumes.

Don’t forget, drink lots of water and go easy on the salt, sugar, alcohol, and saturated fat. One of the biggest challenge today in fighting fat and a slow metabolic rate is the society’s view of food as entertainment. So beside active living, you will need to stop looking at food consumption as a means of gratification. This is what causes us to be gluttons and overweight (even obese). Most People don’t stop eating even when they are full. Do you?

Lastly, get sufficient rest and sleep— Sleep and other lifestyle patterns can help or hinder the rate at which we metabolize foods. I’ll talk about it next time in regards to ‘Sleep and Weight Loss’.

Engaging in the above habits should kick up your metabolism and keep your body fat at check!
